Despite the political turmoil of the era, the coinage remained of high quality and standardized weight. This coin was minted in the capital, Shahjahanabad (Old Delhi), which remained the symbolic heart of the empire.

Physical & Calligraphic Details: The coin is struck in the Nasta‘liq script, divided by horizontal lines, a hallmark of Mughal numismatic art.

• Obverse (Face): Features the Emperor’s name and titles. The legend typically reads: “Sikka Mubarak Sahib-i-Qiran Thani Muhammad Shah Badshah Ghazi” (The auspicious coin of the Second Lord of the Auspicious Conjunction, Muhammad Shah, Emperor, Warrior of the Faith).
